Internet Explorer 6 won't open new windows.
I booted up this morning and found that links that used to open in new windows (like the news on Windrivers.com) wouldn't. Also, when I right-click a link to "open in new window" it won't. The window just kind of flashes as if inactive for a second.
I was running IE6, tried updating to sp1, and back, and forth - no go. I tried a "system restore" to a point a couple days ago, still nothing.
This problem is not only very annoying, but makes some sites practically unusable. Can anyone help me?

Yes.. this is a common problem There are other things it could be, but this is the most likely cure.
Oops, forgot you can't click, here is the link http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;Q281679
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

Hmm...
Thanks for the fast response.
Upon further testing it would appear that is exactly my problem. However, after doing everything they recommend short of a complete reinstall of Windows, nothing helps.
One thing is, when running "regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll" I get the message:
"DllRegisterServer in Oleaut32.dll failed
Return code was: 0x80029c4a"
Everything else was done as stated.
Anything else I can try? Thanks.

Had the same problem twice in the past 6 months.
I tried the MS recommendations here:

It did not work!
Downloaded and reinstalled visual basic 6 from microsoft and all was cured!
